| they debuted with the song SCHOOL BYEOLGOK also known as school anthem or rise up. it was quite controversial due to it talking about school struggles but its so relatable plz. they have 2 main subunits, blackkies (rap line / hyung line) and whitekies (vocal line / maknae line) but they always performed as a whole group. j-walk is another subunit consisting of jaeduck and suwon. theyre the first kpop group to film a movie too! its called seventeen, released in 1998. |

# are they disbanded? in 2000, they disbanded with their last performance during dream concert. however, in 2016 they reunited and became popular again. they signed with yg entertainment and are still making music to this day, so if you exclude their disbandment, they are the longest running boy group in kpop.
# what does sechskies mean? its supposed to mean six crystals, but kies translates to gravel in german.
# what does it mean by 'the fifth album'? back during debut days they promised fans they would make at least 5 albums. however they disbanded with only 4 albums, unable to fulfill their promise. during 'eighteen' their movie-documentary, they said that their reunion gave them a chance to do the promise, as they now have more than 6 albums.
# why were they h.o.t's rival group? to start off, they were originally suppposed to be a duo consisting of jiwon and sunghoon, but dsp noticed h.o.t's rising popularity and so he decided to form a group instead. when they debuted, they rose to popularity quickly, becoming the 2nd most popular boy group next to h.o.t.
# are there english speakers in the group? jiwon! him and sunghoon studied in hawaii together. jiwon is the one who usually speaks english for them though if ever.

okay so youre probably a bit weirded out, why is someone as young as me ulting a group as old as them? im going to explain right now ! first, ive always been into 90s artists, but sechskies was my first 90s kpop group. i first saw them on knowing bros so i mainly stanned because of their humor because theyre with no exaggeration, hillarious, but after stanning i came to see how talented they actually are. theyre an all rounded group, literally.
i also really love their friendship and despite their sometimes rlly dumb bickering (please they even fought over pants once), they really care for each other and it shows. for example, im sure most people know about that horrible paragliding "prank", the reactions were genuine and you can actually see they were worried. dont forget the fact half the group are childhood friends! jiwon and sunghoon studied in hawaii together, sunghoon and jiyong studied in ichon-dong together, while jaeduck and jaijin were in a dance crew together. so with that said, they'd most likely get along, which they do. third, this is kinda obvious but VISUALS hello??#{}@ they literally never age. fourth, they have SO MUCH iconic songs. what kpop fan hasnt heard of the go-to christmas kpop song (or at least in my case) aka couple?? other iconic ones also include road fighter, school byeolgok, chivalry, com'back, yegam, and the list goes on. overall i think theyre really worth giving out a tey !! anyways,, i hope this helped in stanning !! ily lots !!
